The List: New, Improved and in 3D

(Okay "3D" was stolen from "The Simpsons" documentary.)

I've deleted a few and added others, but I think this is my final list.

1. Cleaving by Julie Powell
2. Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert
3. The Lonely Days Were Sundays by Eli Evans
4. Fun House by Alison Bechdel (graphic novel)
5. Lit by Mary Karr (previously read)
6. This Boy's Life by Tobias Wolff
7. What is the What by Dave Eggers
8. Running With Scissors by Augustin Burroughs
9. Bad Mother by Ayelet Waldman (previously read)
10. Journal of Solitude by May Sarton
11. Road to Coorain by Jill Kerr Conway
12. A Whole New Life by Reynolds Price (Previously started, but not finished)
13. Fierce Attachments by Vivian Gornick
14. Pilgrim At Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard (or maybe, This Writer's Life)
15. First Comes Love by Marion Winik
16. Crazy Sexy Cancer by Kris Carr

And if I finish early or have
an extra week because I haven't
looked at the dates correctly
(very possible), I will include
Beryl Markum's West With The Night.

  1. Hey what happened to Shalom Auslander? I have an urge to read these with you - virtual book club slash stalker style.

  3. Isn't What is the What a novel? According to my library it is.

  4. What Is The What falls in that grey space; it's kind of like Gertrude Stein's Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas. The events are true, but not told by the person to whom they happened. I haven't picked it up, so I'm not really sure what it looks like. Right now, I'm reading Dan Savage's second memoir, Committed because I accidentally bought it instead of The Kid. If you want to read WITW next, I'll check it out next too.

What did you think of Auslander?
