The day began at 7:00 and hasn't really slowed much until now, 10:30 p.m. Apparently, this is the pace of residency.
I've had a welcome session, book-in-common discussion (I spoke up!), new student orientation, two workshop hours and an hour of faculty readings. The readings were great, but at the end of our first day, many of us were so tired, we didn't give them the full attention they deserved. The screenwriting professor, Helena, is astoundingly good.
So, after a dinner of sushi with new friends representing 4 decades of age, and a rather frustrating Skyping attempt with my family, I'm easing down into my blankets.
